Quantitative Analyst: A large utility services company is seeking an experienced Quantitative Analyst for a 5+ months contract position in their Cincinnati, OH location. Responsible for assisting commercial business model daily administration, conducting test runs primarily in support of fuel flexibility efforts and operation planning scenario evaluation, as well as working on the development of new commercial business model functionalist. Qualifications 1. Minimum qualifications: -Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, Mathematics or other related technical fields. -A high level of proficient computer skills including a thorough knowledge of the Microsoft .Net framework, Visual Studio (VB & C#), and Office suite software. -Solid understanding of relational database concepts including data modeling and Structured Query Language (SQL). 2. Desired qualifications: -Minimum 2 years of experience (internship or coop experience may suffice) in quantitative modeling and programming in energy industry. -Familiar with statistical analysis and Monte Carlo simulation. -Expertise and working knowledge in coal commodity, EA market, operational logistics and technical specs. -Solid understanding of unit specs, operational logistics and coal quality concepts. -Excellent verbal and written communication skills. -Project management experience. -Energetic, positive and self-motivating. Pay rate-$28.57/hr Fundamentals Analyst: A large utility services company is seeking an experienced Fundamentals Analyst for a 5+ months contract position in their Cincinnati, OH location. - Responsible for helping in the development and running of market fundamental analysis related to company’s non-regulated power generation and associated commodities of power, coal, emission allowances, and natural gas. - Will be responsible for updating, reporting, and presenting specific market fundamental reports to risk managers and business leadership. - Will support Fundamentals Manager in building out groups capabilities. - Finally, will serve as back-up to position reporting analyst. Qualifications Required: - Bachelor degree in Finance, Economics, or Sciences required OR an equivalent combination of education and experience from which a comparable level of knowledge, skills and abilities have been acquired. - MBA with a focus in Finance desired. - Exposure to some or all of the following commodities is required: Power, Coal, Emission Allowances, and/or Natural Gas. - Solid Excel skills are expected. - Must be comfortable that you can improve on your Excel skills to become very skilled at managing large amounts of data and using more advanced analysis tools. - Exposure to Excel add-ons - @Risk, Solver, and/or Data Analysis is a plus. - Capabilities with SQL and Macros are not required but would be a huge plus. - Experience working with Commodities XL and experience using Commercial Business Model results is desired. - Is expected to know the details of assigned fundamental topics but also be able to summarize these details effectively for internal customers. Pay rate-$30.71/hr DERS Analyst: A large utility services company is seeking an experienced DERS Analyst for a 5+ months contract position in their Cincinnati, OH location. Responsible for submitting and verifying demand bids, compiling DERS forward positions for hedging purpose as a member of the contract distribution list every time a new deal has been signed and therefore needs to be hedged, as well as assisting to update CXL and maintaining energy cost tracking for large pass through customers. Qualifications Required - Bachelor degree in Finance, Economics, or Sciences required OR an equivalent combination of education and experience from which a comparable level of knowledge, skills and abilities have been acquired. - MBA with a focus in Finance desired. - Exposure to retail analysis, marketing will be a plus. - Solid Excel skills are expected. - Must be comfortable that you can improve on your Excel skills to become very skilled at managing large amounts of data and using more advanced analysis tools. - Exposure to Excel add-ons Pay rate-$30.71/hr Portfolio Analyst: A large utility services company is seeking an experienced Portfolio Analyst for a 5+ months contract position in their Cincinnati, OH location. Responsible for: -Assisting commodity risk managers in tracking/analyzing hedging effectiveness, validating/back testing operational inputs to CBM, managing underlying data and excel position reports, and P&L analysis; -Assisting mid marketer in analyzing load auction deal performance and serving as backups -Helping with Ad hoc analysis from DERS on assigned topics and projects in portfolio analysis.
