We as a society have became minimalist when it comes to our health... We are advised on regular daily allowances (RDAs) with food aka minimums, people tend to look for the easiest way to do absolutely everything in the gym... choosing an easier option or avoiding something completely. but lets be blunt a WORKOUT takes EFFORT and requires ENERGY and will be CHALLENGING provided its done correctly. these two are major players in overall health... do you have to train like a mad man and make up some crazy exercise balancing weights on your finger tips whilst one legged on a ball? no but choosing not to do an exercise because its hard is an indication to a persons true intentions regarding their health. something as misinformed as choosing to walk on the treadmill because the cross trainer makes your legs ache and you find it hard/tires you out quickly really does defeat the object. When it comes to nutrition we should be striving for maximums.... maximal nutrients delivering maximum vitamins and minerals. For example no one ever gained considerable muscle mass from minimal protein and people often struggle losing belly fat because of minimal dietary fat intake. When working out you should be looking to give your maximum for that hour if you truly want to feel the benefits and see the results. these are two examples of the minimalist approach, but how many other areas of peoples life do they strive for the minimum? this is a learnt trait and can be unlearned and relearned to suit...
