We bring good things to life. Okay, that’s not original, but it’s fitting for one of our calls from last night. Alexandra Tersio had just delivered her baby girl prematurely before we arrived at her home. Officer Marty Castellanos found a somewhat chaotic scene and the baby unresponsive on the kitchen floor. He immediately began rubbing the newborn’s sternum until the baby started to squirm and clear fluid from her lungs. Sergeant Sean Flynn positioned the baby to keep the fluid draining and then handed off the child to Fire-Rescue personnel when they arrived. Officer Castellanos followed medics to Boca Raton Regional Hospital where he learned that baby “Aliyah” and mother were doing fine. Great work by our public safety team!
