“We bring nothing at birth; we take nothing with us at death The Lord alone gives and takes Today, I am letting you know that I became one of those who lost a dear one. My Cousin Lokang, brother to Flora Akongo (For those who are from my home village and know her well and currently in Juja Kenya) and Oduwa who is also serving in South Sudan Army, had passed away after a two days of short illness. The young man had served in the South Sudan Military (SPLA) for some years now and recently fled from the Nuer-Dinka conflict frontline to Torit Town of Eastern Equotoria State. The young man was a dedicated soldier and was quickly gaining recognition and respect from his high ranking officers. He became ill and recovered one and half months ago. Then suddenly just this week, he felt sick while on duty and after two days, he succumbed to his illness. I request those who are in Juja, Kenya, to please offer your consoling advice to my Cousin Flora who is so much affected by this news she receives last night. I tried my best to calm her down on the phone (supposedly not the best option console her, she is constantly in tears) This has equally affected all of us in the family and we are only praying that God receive his soul in heaven and offer his blessings for what the young man had done for his country and his people of Eastern Equatoria State. May you rest in peace cousin. We will always remember you, and you will never fade away in our memories. RIP..
