We called the farmers this morning to see how they are doing. We spoke to Caroline from the interview below; and she has in fact expanded on her use of SRI to 5 rooms (she only planted SRI on a small demonstration plot last year). We will keep in regular contact with her and the other women to see how they progress through the year. During the interview she told us about the problem that they face with the use of SRI; which is the lack of compost (manure). To help the farmers with this problem, we are sending another expert to Cameroon to teach the farmers how to prepare their own compost. This trip is schedule for the 31st of August and we look forward to posting more information as we proceed.
