We can enjoy some quiet weather again for a few days. Id like to take this chance to get some feedback! Ive been trying a couple of new things this summer: • Most notable is my Severe Weather Risk Categories- the different colors youve been seeing on my maps lately (green = minimal, yellow = low, orange = elevated, red = outbreak). I have an equation that works behind the scenes that I plug my forecast into that outputs the appropriate risk category. How do you think it is working? Are the labels and colors appropriate? • On Tuesday, I made a single post as the storms started to fire up and continually updated it (until I lost power at least) with the latest warnings, reports and radar images. Did you like this method, or are multiple posts scattered throughout the event better? • Any other suggestions or comments? Id love to hear what you want to see. I am very close to being done with grad school and working towards making Finger Lakes Weather my full time career, focusing both on paid clients and lots of free, public information like what I have been doing (but even more!).
