We continue to closely monitor the air quality throughout our area - TopicsExpress

We continue to closely monitor the air quality throughout our area and at each school site. We are also consulting with county health officials and reviewing data from a variety of sources, including the County Air Pollution Control Districts. The current forecast is calling for an increase in wind which could cause a significant smoke event this afternoon and evening, and possibly into tomorrow morning. If the forecast is correct, there is a higher likelihood of school cancellations tomorrow than we have seen previously. We will be consulting with the county health officials first thing, reviewing specific data for our area, and district staff will visit each school early on Wednesday morning to evaluate the conditions, to determine whether or not we need to cancel school. We will use our “snow day” protocols for notifications about any school closures. If you do NOT receive a call, schools are in session. We will post status updates on the district web site, FaceBook, and Twitter.
