We did it!! Got past another tax day. You know what they say? No. Two things in life are inevitable--death & taxes. And now weve got the roller coaster ride I call Good Friday & Easter Sunday. Good Friday, which originally wasnt so good for Jesus, but talk about a rebound!! Back then rising from the dead was a lot more impressive. It was rare; a much bigger deal. There were no zombies, vampires, or Frankenstein, or if there were, we didnt know about it cuz there were no zombie, vampire, or Frankenstein movies; not even books! There wasnt even a Mary Shelley yet! Before Jesus Saved the Big Comeback for Himself, he laid His hands on a few stiffs & had them rise & shine! He was in demand! (Not On Demand; there was no TV either). He was great if you were running low on wine, but one of His miracles that didnt generate as much publicity or good will was His ability to turn water into urine. Again, much more commonplace now. But enough history! Easter is a special day at the Produce house. Its a chance to tease & hide stuff from the kids. A chance to celebrate elusive bunnies; why they hate breaking the news youre pregnant, & their irrational fear of Glenn Close. Which brings us full circle--coming back from the dead. Most rabbits or bunnies dont have such an impressive track record. A few are the stuff of legend-- Peter Cottontail, Brer Rabbit, Bugs Bunny, Roger Rabbit, &, of course, the Easter Bunny. But again, the stuff of legend. You dont know who or what to believe! I DO believe that come Easter Monday, Im gonna be paying for my chocolate fix, but who cares? You only live once!! Unless youre a cat, zombie, vampire, Frankenstein, Shirley MacLaine, or Jesus! Dont sweat Good Friday! Itll get better!!
