We dont know Gods plan for our lives....or his plan for entering His Heavenly Home. As humans, we can only have FAITH in His Word. My sweet Aunt Sharon has battled pancreatic cancer for over a year. With this disease the life expectancy is usually 6 months at most after diagnosis. She is already a record breaker!!! She has been on Hospice care for at least 10 weeks now.....more than once we have been told she has hours to days. But she has rallied each time......last time I spent the weekend she was doing leg lifts in her bed twice a day to build up her strength! She has said her goodbyes to friends and family more than once. She has picked her burial clothes, jewelry, service etc...weeks ago, as she prepared. About a week ago, she started a decline again. Her body is a mere shell of her former self. She hasnt eaten in weeks, and swallowing even water is difficult. But, yet she is still here with us with every new day, she is conscious and her family treasures this time. She has fought and won battle after battle. She is a woman of strong Christian Faith....one moment she is ready and the next she is weeping and scared. Who wouldnt be? What is His purpose in this lingering? We can not know that answer. I know many of you have prayed for her over these past months, and I do so thank you. Please, pray extra hard for peace and comfort for Sharon Baker and her family who has so lovingly cared for her during this horrific illness. Thy will be done........Amen.
