We dont know about you, but our minds are on Hibiscus these days. They are blooming like crazy in our area and making us want to plant more, more and MORE! Here are some that are knocking our socks off: Midnight Marvel (the 2 red ones) and Summerific(TM) Summer Storm (pink) and Sunny Wind (yellow). Here are some tips if you are thinking of planting them: We have found that the winter hardy varieties break dormancy quite late in the spring/summer -- there were no signs of plant life until June 1 when they broke from the ground, but they are huge by the end of summer! One of the Midnight Marvels was returned by a customer who was sure there was no hope for this dormant plant, but one of our agents planted it at home and we are happy to see it thriving! Sunny Wind is a tropical variety that was overwintered on the windowsill in our call center. Its planted with Euphorbia Diamond Frost, Sedona Coleus, and Pomegranate Punch Calibrachoa.
