We enjoy pastimes that allow us to distance ourselves temporarily from the harsh realities of life - as an example, baseball. Americas favorite pastime. Unfortunately, baseball has experienced elements of lifes harsh realities that continue to detract from our love of the sport. The recent year long suspension of Alex Rodriguez is the most severe punishment levied by Major League Baseball for performance enhancing drug (PED) use . . . but its not the first . . . and likely not the last.
