We experienced our first big earthquake last night - a 5.1 originating about 5 miles from our house. We have felt small jolts before but this one almost knocked me off the bed where I was watching television. All of our pictures were knocked off the walls and glassware came out of the cupboards and everything flew out of the medicine chests in the bathrooms. The only damage we had was lots of broken glass and broken picture frames but it is an experience I will never forget.
