We finished our newsletter…it’s late, what do we do? Is there size limit on a facebook post? Let’s find out. It’s time again (give or take about a week or so approximately more or less when rounding up) to pick up the pen and paper and dictate to Siri the Ower Christmas newsletter. Big news in basketball this year. Lebron James is playing for Cleveland again and Robbie Ower made the freshman basketball team at Corvallis High School. Yes, Robbie started high school. We are concerned but we are sure CHS has gone through this before. The CHS fans were relieved from the rumor that he would go pro. In a press conference Robbie said, Im committed to finishing high school.” Playing freshman football truly made Robbie a basketball player. Roxy lives in Corvallis still and works at Washington Federal. Or as Mush pronounces it, Washington Mutual. Her speech impediment makes it hard to say her fs, es, ds...etc. Robbie suggests Roxy take an unnoticed penny a day and they will split about $1 .2 million when he graduates high school. Nick was working at Laika (the film production company that just did “The Box Trolls”), however when the film was completed he quit to travel around Europe for six weeks. For me, it was a vicarious dream come true, but I think he probably had the most fun. The iPhone technology blows my mind; while in Europe Nick was able to phone us and we could hear him like he was standing in the other room. Mush enjoys her job at the OSU Bookstore. Her discount, however, has resulted in me having to wear Beaver gear to weddings, bar mitzvahs, inaugurations, etc. The good thing is Ive come to learn that you can wear anything you want when you are in a wheelchair, like my buttless chaps. Mush is still an avid reader of books, talker about books, looker for books, blah blah blah books books books. She has even learned braille just in case she ever goes blind. Mike (who likes to refer to himself in the third person), has recovered enough from his neck surgery to know not working rocks, however health issues will be a constant challenge. After breaking his femur while putting on a sock he questioned whether socks were that important. Breaking his other legs in a fall just made him appreciate his arms all the more. So, at the start of this year we are all happy, appreciating our family and friends. By God’s grace we persevere and discover more of His faithfulness. Happy 2015. The Owers
