We get a lot of questions about in-laws. Here is the painful truth - TopicsExpress

We get a lot of questions about in-laws. Here is the painful truth many of us come to realize. In-laws, if boundaries arent set and they start interfering to much in your marriage, they can destroy it. Plain and simple. Many not all but many of us spouses are blamed for the vets problems, we are judged for everything, and/or they encourage our vet to leave us. I have long given up on trying to help my in-laws understand PTSD and see how much I do for my vet. I have even scaled back how much contact I have with my own parents and how much I tell them. Our marriage is between myself and my vet. If they have questions about PTSD they are free to ask, but I do not share any personal details with them. It has been harder to get my vet to stop running to them and telling them everything, but it is getting better. That doesnt mean we are rude or cut them out, but our marriage is first and if they start intruding or trying to divide us then we will cut ties until they can be respectful. So how do you all deal with your in-laws?
