We get quite a few complains about plants turning brown and dying. We found that over or under watering is usually the most common cause of the condition. Underwatering can cause plant to have yellow or dried leaves. If plant is not getting enough hydration, it will conserve what little water it has by keeping the stalk and the roots moist but the leaves will turn yellow and wilt, eventually drying up. If condition persist the plant will die. Overwatering will drown the plant as roots need to breathe and being wet all the time the roots will literally suffocate. That is the reason moist, well-drained soil is preferred in most cases. The solution :) is to water daily especially in our hot tropical weather, preferably in the evening when water gets drained but soil remains moist through the night allowing the plant a little longer to drink. Make sure potted plants have soil that drains well.
