We go through this every. Single. Year. That being said, some of these are on point: no nomination for The Lego Movie? Gone Girl not even getting technical nods? I admit I haven’t yet seen Jessica Chastain’s performance in “A Most Violent Year” but I imagine it’s outstanding (because shes one of the best actresses working currently and is amazing in literally everything). But perhaps one of the most surprising (to me) was the lack of editing nods for Birdman. That movie wouldn’t have worked without the masterful editing.
