We got some great young kids, I was with about two hundred of them last night at a college function at the Alpha House. Not much has changed, girls preen and flitter for the boys, the boys congregate and get group courage to flex for the girls. Everyone I engaged in conversation was either on way to a university, already in school or had graduated. Only one young man I chatted with said he does nothing. Of course, I had a colorful retort to his answer. This issue is that we, at times, Im so included, are jaded and somewhat deluded to think that ALL of these kids are lost and without hope. The same song of boys and girls interaction is universal and that will never change. The dress is different for sure, girls leave their home with ripped clothing and exposed stomachs and the boys....simply dress with extreme casualness, except for two young guys who have been in my home Joe Hooks and Duriajaiye, they were dressed in a quite impressive manner. My fear is that before they can open their mouths to share their hope and dreams....they have been written off by their dress and nonchalant demeanor. They partied hard, no fights, no BS, the organizers cleaned up as expected and all kids left the HISTORIC ALPHA HOUSE IN GOOD ORDER!
