“We had 40 athletes competing for their parish at the annual Meath Community Games athletic finals held in scorching temperatures in Cushinstown over the weekend. The first 4 in each event were awarded medals with the gold medal winners selected to represent Meath at the National finals in Athlone on the weekend of August 17th/18th Well done to everyone who took part – Medal winners were – Gold – 1st Jane Larkin – U/12 – 600m. Conor Jones U/14 – 100m. Paddy Maher – U/14 – 800m. Niamh Hetherington – U/16 – 100m. Boys U/14 – 4 x 100 relay – Conor Keena, Mika Micaibua, Niall Hurley, Conor Jones. U/16 – 4 x 200m mixed relay – Niamh Hetherington, Neil Byrne, Ciara Jones, Jack Hetherington. Silver –2nd Jeff Foley – U/6 – 60m. Adam Kelly – U/10 – 60m Hurdles. Charlie O’Connor – U/10 – 600m. Ava Mangan – U/14 – Shot Putt. Mika Micibua – U/14 - 100m. U/12 – Girls relay – Meadbh Byrne, Karla Kealy, Jane Larkin, Tara Hetherington.
