We had a Jail Break today... When we took in a friends lil rattie Bowie after her sister died, we also got her cage. We had just gotten our new babies and felt the four of them would play well with each other so we added them to Bowies cage. The wires were a little far apart and the babies could slip through them so I wrapped the cage in chicken wire so the babies couldnt escape. Now that theyre bigger we thought they couldnt get out. We were wrong... But not for that reason... Seems there was a wire that came loose from the solder point at the corner on the second level. Its not something you can see, but the bar can be pushed down out of the way if a little pressure is put on it. In less than five minutes from the chicken wire being taken off that point, Bowie and her accomplice Tasha, had pushed the wire down and made their escape to the book case behind the cage... Think about that for a second... This little rat remembered where the weak wire was, even after being in the cage wrapped in chicken wire for two months. All the time just waiting for her chance... Rats are an opposable thumb away from taking over the world...
