We had a fun day exploring St. Croix. We rented a Jeep Wrangler & headed out. Driving on the wrong side of the road is a challenge, but Chuck mastered it, and drove us through rain forest, by pretty beaches, through lots of potholes, St Croix isnt known for its good roads. We had a yummy lunch by a beautiful beach and then set out to find the islands only lighthouse albeit a no longer in use, neglected one. Looked where the map showed it to be, but couldnt find it. Finally found someone who knew how to get there, not any where near where the map indicated it should be. It took a 25 min. Hike up the hill on a narrow path through the rain forest. Had to rest a few times and sweat a lot, but made it. Kind of crazy, but worth it. Have to love lighthouses to understand. On our search for the lighthouse we came upon an old deserted resort that must have been lovely in its day. Now its all overgrown with vines and trees. Looked in one of the guest houses and there were bats hanging from the ceiling. Fun stuff! Good dinner, good shower & goodnight.
