We had a great time and enjoyed a wonderful meal with family. Now everyone has left to go other places and as I sit here reflecting, it occurred to me that even those that have went home to be with the Lord were also with us. I thought of my Mom who we lost back in July, while eating the dressing made without onions just like she used to do for me. And I couldn’t help but think of my wife’s aunt Neppie who we lost a couple of years ago, as I ate the sweet potatoes made using her recipe, and even though my grandma Liles is still living she was not physically at my house, but did her pecan pie bring back a flood of memorys of Christmas past, as did all the other dishes. As I sit here I realize my family is truly blessed to know the Lord and I know we will some day celebrate the birth of Christ together in Heaven and that will truly be a Merry Christmas.
