We had a great time yesterday, our last Sunday service in 2014. Find below the summary notes. Preacher: Pastor Aubrey Mwasinga Title: Give Earnest Heed To The Things I Have Taught You In The Year 2014 (Summarised by Chimwemwe Kabaghe) There are some people who havent learnt how to receive the Word. The Word is not meant for your mind, because the mind deals with will and reason; but the Word surpasses all this. Thus it is important to be attuned to the Holy Spirit, because when you hear the Word you can charge yourself up to receive it by speaking in tongues, because you edify yourself (1 Cor 14:4). The Word first gets into your mind because this is the door to your spirit. But by just listening to the general message, just like any person would, you may miss certain things the Holy Spirit will be imparting in your spirit as you listen. This is why there is no such thing as a boring service, you ought to enjoy each service because God would not allow you to waste time in a service that will not equip you. Thus it is important to view each service as if it is meant for you. Because the Lord would have worked on it as it comes to you. For some, the Word can work directly without effort, depending on which level you are. Some will have to work the Word so that it blesses them. [[Heb 2:1]] KJV Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip. There are some brethren that like fresh revelations and new knowledge yet you find when they write notes, they do no go back to read and use them. Some do not even write at all! And overtime, they start quoting things wrong, the Word starts to slip away. John 3:16 becomes For Jesus looked at the earth and decided, Let me go and die for them; just as an example because 2 years ago you used to know it and thus have stopped reading it. They get deceived with looking for new revelations and ignore the ones that were already there. Hebrews 2:2-3 delves into how important the Word is and how dangerous it is to ignore it and despise it. We expect too much from God yet we ignore the things we have already been given. We end up getting little but if we give earnest heed to the Word we will get more revelation. Brethren Christianity ought to be easy, Apostle Paul said there is more excellent way of doing things (1 Cor 12:31) and Jesus asked us to take His yoke because it easy in Matt 11:29-30. And we will have rest every day we are in Him. 2 Peter 1:19 KJV We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts: As you reflect on what you planned and did not achieve this year, dont look at the remaining things to be done. Look at what God has done. Take heed of the things you heard this year, because Brethren this year of Gracious Opportunities, I taught on the Word with depth. James 1:22-25. You deceive yourself if you do not take heed at what you hear. Dont be just hearers but doers. Remind yourself, even if you know a verse open it and read it. Heb 6:12 KJV That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises. We have to have faith and patience. When the Lord tells you something today it does not always mean you will get i right there and then, have faith and patience. Dont go around creating your own miracles. Verse 15 says after enduring he got the promise. Faith works with patience. Being Christian does not mean you are boring by the way. One last verse I leave you to mediate upon is John 3:31
