We had a great turnout again Wednesday night and I would invite - TopicsExpress

We had a great turnout again Wednesday night and I would invite you to join us if you have not been to a mid-week Bible study for a while. I am continuing our discussions on the “most unlikely” heroes. We are in the Gospel of John and Jesus’ unlikely encounter with the woman at the well (John 4). Why was she the unlikely hero? She was a Samaritan (Jews despised Samaritans). She was a woman (it was not culturally accepted for a man to speak openly to a woman). She had a really bad reputation (married 5 times, living with man who was not her husband) Her life-changing encounter with Jesus produced a response from her that changed, not only her own life, but the lives of many Samaritans. She was the first evangelist; “Many Samaritans from that town believed in him because of the woman’s testimony…” John 4:39. Andy Andrews describes a process in which all of us have the potential to be that “unlikely Hero” who will take part, or make a contribution towards something (or someone) who will change our world!
