We had a lively discussion last evening on the subject of suffering. Some pointed out wonderful scriptures that were positive; beautiful scriptures that I quote often to myself. Some mentioned that in the past they had seen a few immature people latch on to a few scriptures and choose to believe that knowing Jesus was a fix and nothing bad would ever again happen to those of faith. Others told of times that even while trusting God bad things happened in their lives. I lay in bed last night thinking of Christians in Egypt who were being persecuted for the terrible crime of accepting Jesus as their Lord and Savior. The heart in my physical body that is full of Gods life hurts painfully for them this morning. I wonder what pain is in His great heart today. The one lesson I have learned as I have passed through the many seasons of this life journey of mine is the only sure foundation I have is Jesus. I have two life scriptures. I am sharing this one today. that I may know him and the power of his resurrection, and may share his sufferings, becoming like him in his death, (Philippians 3:10 ESV) Frances de Sales, who lived in the sixteenth century said this: For truly, if He is with me, I care not where I go. Frances finished his earth journey years ago and is now enjoying that eyes have not seen...place that God has prepared for those who love him. As the song writer penned, It will be worth it all when we see Jesus...
