We had a rather chilly morning this morning. I kept a smart phone beside me in the bed with the Weather Channel display open, getting up several times to see if the water was still running from the pipes. The lowest it read was 11 degrees at about 5 AM, Union, Mississippi Jan. 08, 2015. It is only showing 12 degrees (I think that reading is from the Pine Springs weather check point) at 8:35 A.M. 11 degrees is the second lowest temperature I can remember here in 37 years. Just once we had a hard freeze and I remember seeing 9 degrees on the Peoples Bank sign down town, I think in the late 1970s. That time it froze the entire water main at the big water tank down south of town..
