We had friends over for dinner last night (No, I did not cook, picked up bbq and fried okra, Man, I Love fried okra.). They have a sweet 6-month old baby and mom was talking about the other day she tried to feed him pumpkin and he didnt like it and then switched to fresh pumpkin (from the canned) and he loved it. (She prepares most of his food by hand.) Without thinking, I mentioned that my favorite had been the pureed bananas in a jar, remember those? So tasty. I remember lots of stuff from when I was, probably, around 3 years old and up. I remember one night, waking up crying in my crib and not knowing why, and then the hall light snapped on and grandmother was standing, in silhouette, at the doorway and since I didnt know why I was crying, I stopped, the hall light snapped off and she went away. I remember the cute little lamb decal at the foot of my crib. I remember when my father dropped me off for my first day of first grade and watching him walk away and crying because of my utter sense of desolation and abandonment. It really did feel like I was never going to see him again. (I guess I was still having some issues with the concept of object permanence.)
