We have a Soldier left behind after he came home, a Marine. A man - TopicsExpress

We have a Soldier left behind after he came home, a Marine. A man many of us locally knew from a little small church they use to call the Purple Onion in Johnston City, IL. His parents attended church there and I remember the day the brought him to church. Nothing like the love for a church baby. He served his Country well. When he came home he went through loss of a wife and mother of his children and is a single dad. He had a melt down at work and found himself in trouble. At that time I was a Volunteer at the local VA. I lost track of his parents over the years and did my best to locate them. I took it upon myself to take a copy of Veterans Rights and deliver them to the States Attorneys Office, The local Chief of Police and even the Mayor. Long story short after 20 years of Volunteering at the VA I turned in my badge because of the outcome of this Veterans sentencing. Whats done is done but I would like to see the scarlet letter taken off his chest where Medals once hung. Because of the privacy act I was unable to locate this Soldier which is why I want to be grand mothered in as a VA Volunteer so I can bring my grandson back and pass out Popsicle to the Veterans like he did ever since he was able to ride a tricycle with a bucket on the back with the Popsicle in it.
