We have a lot of interesting things in the Cascade Rail Foundation - TopicsExpress

We have a lot of interesting things in the Cascade Rail Foundation archives. For example, the Nighswonger Collection includes several boxes containing more than 700 reports of accidents that occurred on the Coast Division between 1947 and 1953. They range from the minor (equipment damage, bruises) to very serious (lost limbs, fatalities). Most, but not all of these reports include forms and correspondence related to the incident. Some just have a typed description on the envelope. You can see what these look like in the attached photos. Our volunteers are working to organize and catalog these reports, including a database that includes the date, location, description of the incident, and the person or people directly involved. Come join us at the Archive in Burien to help us preserve and share these stories from the Milwaukee Road. We meet on the first and third Thursday nights, plus we have a special session scheduled for Saturday, October 18 (see the comments for more information).
