We have a new Chief of the Navy. I hope he is able to cross the labyrinth of indian politcs with the vision and determination needed to turn our navy into a force to be reckoned with. I cannot help but feel sad that we dont have 1 lac ton displacement nuclear aircraft carriers and submarines that are fuelled by nuclear power. With the recent spat of naval accidents a question tht begs to be answered is, do we have the professionalism to have such dangerous equipment. If we cannot stop a diesel submarine from getting burnt, can our sailors prevent a nuclear meltdown ?
