We have a patient who is desperately in need of a new home – can you help or do you know anyone who can? Licorice is a 9 year old female spayed domestic shorthair cat who was bottle-raised by her owner as a feral kitten. She and her owner had a very close bond but sadly her owner recently passed away suddenly. Licorice is overall quite healthy and is quite low maintenance. However, she has retained some of her fear of strangers and will need a bit of time to adjust. She will need to be an only cat (we think…though we have not tested her with another cat) and expect that she will bond closely in time with her new owner. She would definitely prefer to be in a quiet household and is likely to be a one-person cat. Options are running out for Licorice because she cannot stay in the home in which she has lived her whole life now that she is alone. She will NOT do well in a cage in a shelter and would have a hard time attracting an adopter at a shelter given her black haircoat and very shy nature. If you cannot help, please share this with others so that we may spread the word and hopefully find a new home for this sweet soul! Unfortunately we only these fuzzy photos of her, but shes a pretty girl.
