We have all this racial tension building, so I looked up the length of time the Jews were held in captivity in the Old Testament...400 years in Egypt and 70 years in Babylon...thats not counting being under Roman rule during New Testament time, or being under the rule of Hitler when millions of Jews were beaten, starved, killed and their skin made into lamp shades. I dont see the Jewish people calling for the genocide of all Egyptians, even though they enslaved the Jews for 400 years. I dont see the Jews promoting the killing of all non Jews. I dont see the Jews carrying on about their years in slavery, and their treatment as slaves was worse than anything imaginable. If the most persecuted people on the face of the earth can pick up their lives, become productive, obey the laws of the land, show respect to their police officers, (some of whom are non Jews), then why cant Americans learn to put the past behind us, as the Jews have done and stop the fighting? And dont even bother with your statements of inequality...the Jewish people struggle daily against what every American, black or white, would consider to be impossible daily struggles. The world is turning its back on them. Their babies are issued gas masks at birth. Are yours? They have rockets fired at them more frequently than the biased news even reports. The only time people riot in Israel is when a terrorist is caught and then the only people rioting are the other terrorists. Jews dont hate each other because of the color of their skin. There are Jews of every shade from ghostly white to darkest black, yet to them, every Jewish life is precious. If you break the law in Israel, then you are a criminal, and under Jewish law, you will be treated as such even if you are pink with purple polka dots. The same should be done here. No matter what color your skin is, if you break the law, it doesnt matter what color the cops are who come after you, youre at fault...youre a criminal. Deal with it. If we keep going the way we are, we are going to be going to war. Weve been at war for years now outside our borders and we all hate it. Are we really going to allow war on our own soil? Do you want the police to continue to do their jobs, or would you rather have tanks rolling through your neighborhoods accompanied by soldiers with machine guns? The choice is ours.
