We have another FOSTER FAILURE on our hands folks! Meet Henry. Formerly known as “Bruno Mars,” Henry came to us in mid-December from El Faro De Los Animales, the only no-kill shelter in Puerto Rico. Before being rescued, Henry was living with a family that deserted him. Intent on finding a home, he started ‘stalking’ an apartment across the street from where he lived. Here’s what we know from Monica, one of the guardian angels who rescued him: “He started coming into the condo grounds through a hole in the fence. He sat along the entrance to the units located on the ground floor. He was skittish, and I really never could get near him. After several days of hanging out there, he started to whine. People complained about the howling, so the administration patched up the hole in the fence. When he could no longer come in, he sat across the road, howling and crying. One of my neighbors paid for boarding at the vet, and then I picked him up and took him to our Sanctuary. At first he was quiet and shy, but quickly got the hang of it and figured out that he was going to be ok. “ Our partner, Animal Lighthouse Rescue from New York City, featured him in a photo album of dogs needing homes. One of their foster parents, Karen Sodomick, saw his photo and immediately requested to foster this little guy. Karen had recently lost her sweet 15-year-old boy Miles. It was love at first pet, and now they are living happily ever after together! Henry has been coming to Camp Canine every week for almost a month and has won our hearts too. Welcome home Henry!
