We have another huge shoutout to share for the generosity and support given to us by the Orange County Community Foundation, OCCF. They donated $25,000 to help sponsor this months REBOOT Workshop in North County at California State University San Marcos. Thank you for believing in and supporting our program because you want our veterans to have the best chance to succeed. From OCCF: “Over the past three years, OCCF staff has been working with a group of interested donors to understand and respond to the needs of local veterans. We began by identifying and meeting with nonprofits focusing on recent-returning veterans. One of the most critical issues we identified was the challenge that veterans have in re-integrating into civilian life, but we learned that Orange County was lacking a comprehensive approach to the program. Our exploration led us to the REBOOT Workshops offered by San Diego-based National Veterans Transition Services. Through REBOOT, veterans examine their talents, identify their goals, and define their next steps and REBOOT staff helps with career planning, resume writing, interviewing and job search skills. A $200,000 grant from OCCF and a core group of our donors brought the REBOOT program to Orange County, allowing 80 service members to complete the innovative workshop,” said OCCF Senior Donor Relations and Program Officer Carol Ferguson.
