We have another winter storm coming. Im really looking forward to this coming spring! On those warmer winters I was able occasionally go out and try to get something done. I have stayed inside this winter more than I have in others. The only exception was the winter Dolly had a broken pelvis and she spent most of her time in my lap. Even then I could occasionally sneak outside when she was sleeping in her crate. Dolly this year has even cut back on her potty runs. Shed cut back on them so much that now gretchen and Richard are taking her out on the leash. its not entirely the cold that made her cut back. No shes become afraid of some of the other dogs in the neighborhood. Just by looking you cant tell shes afraid. The only reason I know it is because I know her very well. Ive seen those very subtle little signs. In a way Im glad she has. She was too brave. Im glad she learned it without getting chewed up. Most of the dogs in my area are male. Its unusual for a male to attack a female that they know, Its also unusual for them to fight after they have been neutered. These dogs are neutered too. I think its a jealousy thing. Dolly was competing with them for Mr.Watsons attention. he always has a kind word for any dog he sees. Dolly loves those walks with her people. if its really cold shell go out and then right back in. Its mostly Gretchen who walks her. Im not as sure footed on the ice as i was even a few years ago. I cnt go out for just a casual walk no matter how badly I might want to. I have to stop and plot out my moves well in advance. I have to do that because I take a long time to heal and even when I do I wont go back to 100%. Its just a fact ya gotta live with and if you are careful ya might just get lucky.
