We have arrested a Linden man and charged him with robbing two women inside a Spring Lake convenience store while brandishing a gun late last night which turned out to be BB gun. 52-year old Jeffrey Elliott of 68 Duckbill Lane, drove his Chevy Van to a Kangaroo convenience store on Old Wilmington Highway, armed with a weapon that fired round, steel pellets. Elliott walked into the store, demanded fifty dollars ($50.00) from the clerk and fired the BB gun at her, striking the clerk four (4) times. He then approached a female customer shopping in the store, demanding that she too give him money. He grabbed the four dollars ($4.00) the customer had in cash and ran out of the store. Both victims suffered minor wounds from the impact of the pellets. The customer followed Elliott to his vehicle and demanded he give her back the money hed taken from her. Elliott refused and shot her twice with the BB gun. Elliott fled the scene and later was found inside his vehicle, broken down alongside a rural road in Harnett County by Harnett County Sheriffs Deputies. Elliott is charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon, common law robbery, assault and battery and assault on a female. He is being held in the Cumberland County Detention Center under a fifteen thousand dollar ($15,000.00) bond. Elliott will make a first court appearance in the Detention Center courtroom on Monday, November 23, 2014 at 2:30 p.m.
