We have been blessed to be able to invest a lot of time in our relationships with our two granddaughters. However, this past week, I realized that one of my great pleasures, that of reading for fun, is difficult to transmit during the hustle, bustle of family dinners, tea parties, camp fires, etc. So Kenadee and I had our first Friday with Grandma day. (Yes, she gave up movie day at her after-school care, not totally happy about it. She even told me that.) We drove crazy on the way home (with safety first!), had a snack, and then went down to Grandmas library. She read a book to me and then we started Pippi Longstockings. Though she had a few doubts about a book with so few pictures, she did a fine job imagining the pictures in her head. I think we are going to have a lot of fun Fridays!
