We have been covering this story since last weekend. A young valley woman and her son and boyfriend run down while walking their bikes along the shoulder of the road near 115th Ave and Happy Valley Rd in Peoria. She remains in the hospital with severe injuries. Her boyfriend sustained a broken leg and miraculously her son was only slightly hurt. Our community is awesome and many businesses want to help her with medical bills. So, if you have plans to treat yourself to lunch or dinner this weekend, check out Nandos Mexican Cafe. On Sunday April 13th, they will donate a portion of their proceeds to the Nelson family. They have 3 east valley locations and their food is fabulous and family friendly! Then on Monday April 14th, The Haymaker Restaurant Co. in Peoria (Lake Pleasant Parkway and Happy Valley Rd.) are donating 100 percent of their proceeds to the family as well. Another locally owned, family friendly, awesome restaurant!
