We have been enjoying the summer tremendously again this year. Weve had visits from our daughter and family, Brian from Australia, even my nieces and their families. Our Arts Council has outdone itself with amazing offerings and the Chamber Music Series has been incredible. We had a saxophone quartet that blew me away...4 different kinds of saxophones playing fantastic music. Every concert brings professional talent in from out of state. There is always an interesting exhibit at the Mosley Arts Center as well as at our museum. The Scarlett Belles sing along with piano at evening performances in August at the museum, too. There are walking tours of our historic downtown and of the haunted houses and buildings in town. Wolves will be coming to visit soon. A community track meet will be held in one of the parks and a weekly reenactment of the final shootout from the movie Open Range will be held each Saturday in August. Lets not forget that this coming weekend is the national finals stick horse show and rodeo will be held. Then we had a great concert and show put on by our belly dancing troupe along with our cloggers (East meets West) just a couple of nights ago. Oh yeah...Asleep At The Wheel will be performing at out private concert venue in town which is an intimate setting behind a small restaurant. The small stage with a rocky cliff as a backdrop makes you feel really close to the entertainer. For a reasonable price you can get a BBQ dinner and a concert by well known artists like Michael Martin Murphy, all under an open sky. This is just a sample of what this tiny mountain town has to offer. Hey everybody..e to visit Lake City!
