We have been home a week and are finally settling in after being away for so long. Our family was here to welcome us home and spend some time with us. We were overcome with emotions to see Marcus, Tess, Xander, Brittany, Brenden and Desire. Tess, our wonderful daughter-in-law, has stayed to help in every way she possibly can and then more. Im not sure how we would have gotten through this week without her and Xander being here. He is so sweet and brings us so much joy, laughter and fun. We are so glad to be home and in our own surroundings. Alex is still extremely weak and gets tired very easily. He is still trying to overcome the side effects and residual effects of the chemo therapy. It has zapped his energy and his appetite. We have a home health nurse and physical therapist who come to visit several times a week to assist us in getting him mobilized again. But, unfortunately, it will take a long time for him to recondition himself to even be able to walk on his own again. He looks better since we are home and he says he feels better than he did while in the hospital. We are just taking things one day at a time and drawing strength from one another. We appreciate everyones concern and prayers.
