I would like to nominate Smashing Walnuts for this contest. This is a local foundation set up in memory of Gabriella Miller who lost her battle with brain cancer on Oct 26, 2013. Her parents, Mark & Ellyn Miller continue to run this foundation in her memory. The purpose of the foundation is to raise deseperately needed funds for childhood cancer research. Gabriellas tumor was the size of a walnut and they took a frying pan to walunts and smashed them, in a symbolic gesture to help Gabriella visualize beating cancer. The Millers have been amazing advocates for childhood cancer research and have done so much to raise both awareness and funding. Please consider Smashing Walnuts as one of the nominees for this Sweet 16 contest. Gabriella didnt get to live to see her Sweet 16.
