We have been pretty busy inpatient. Every time I try to post on Charlie something comes up. We really miss daddy, its been hard without the extra hands. Charlie kept spiking a fever Saturday and Sunday the highest was 103.9. They were able to bring it down with tylenol and ibuprofen for awhile until he would spike again . He was very lethargic and tired. Sunday Child life brought some toys in and Charlie was interested in the Legos. We sat the head of the bed up and he was able to recline without exerting to much energy to play legos..then he fell asleep lol check out the picture Monday Charlie felt better but was extremely exhausted and sleep deprived. So of course he was very irritable. His blood cultures were staying negative and his white cell count was slowly going down so they concluded that Charlie had a virus. We started discussing discharge instructions and we were looking forward to going home at the 48hr mark...but then Charlie threw a tantrum, pulled out his GJ tube and then spiked a fever. We were stuck again for the night. This morning he has been fever Free for 12+ hours, we are going down to radiology to get a new GJ tube put in, getting a tummy xray and then we get to go home! Yay! Charlie will rest better and feel better at home.
