We have been testing Update 1 for Windows 8.1 over the past 2 weeks, and it seems to have some nice features for mouse/keyboard users. For example, if Windows detects that a mouse and/or keyboard are installed, it will automatically boot to the desktop instead of the Start Menu. Also, there is now a Power Button icon on the Start Menu, instead of having to use the Charms Bar on the right side. Another nice feature is the standard Red X in the top right of windows, for easy closing of open apps. There are several other nice features, but we recommend installing this update and seeing for yourself.
