We have confirmed a new speaker for Marxism 2015! His name is Khury Petersen - Smith and he is an African American activist from the USA who has been involved in crucial battles against racism; from the struggle against the killing of Trayvon Martin, against the execution of Troy Davis and more recently he has been involved in the explosive anti racist mobilisations around Ferguson and against the murder of Eric Garner. He will be speaking at Marxism on the topic of EYEWITNESS: African American Activist on Ferguson, Police Violence and Racism He has written on the topic here (socialistworker.org/2014/11/21/why-are-they-afraid-of-ferguson) Here is a brief biography of him. Khury Petersen-Smith is an activist in the International Socialist Organization in the United States. He has been involved in struggles against racism and in solidarity with Palestine, participating in a relief convoy to Gaza in summer 2009. Khury also focuses on US imperialism and participated in a peace delegation to Occupied Iraq in 2004. He studies the geography of US militarization at Clark University in Massachusetts. He lives in Boston, USA.
