We have had a couple of inquiries over the past few days in reference to this weekends incident at the Post Office. We have not yet been involved in any media releases on this incident because it is a Federal case currently being handled by the U.S. Postal Inspectors Office and we are limited in what we can share. We can only confirm that a USPS driver was robbed at gunpoint on Saturday and that no one was harmed during the incident. No arrests have been made at this time and we have not yet received any updates from the USPS in reference to the progress of this case. It is natural to feel vulnerable when incidents like this occur, but Tyrone remains to be one of the safest cities in the metro Atlanta area. That being the case, we are just like every other city in the U.S. in that we are not immune to criminal activity such as this and we do have the occasional felony crime to include robberies and assaults. This is our first armed robbery since 2011 and only our 7th since 2007. We will update you on the progress of this case as information comes in from the USPS.
