We have had an amazing couple of days. Yesterday I felt good - TopicsExpress

We have had an amazing couple of days. Yesterday I felt good enough to clean my living room, do some laundry, play some board games with Elizabeth and walk one round at the park. Today it was off to the Social Security office to start the paperwork on that mess. Apparently I’m special now with Stage 4 pancreatic cancer and my application will get fast tracked. Our worker was very nice and he expected approval in a month. He also agreed to pray for us—one more in our army!! And then I had Michael take me to work!! It was wonderful to be back with the team I love for a while and to touch base with some of my families. I wish I had the time to talk to each and every one, but as Michael, Elizabeth and I are learning, there just aren’t enough hours in the day. Never are. I did learn from a new friend at work that she and I share the same cancer clinic and even the same doctor. She didn’t know he is Christian, so she will be asking him to pray with her as well. It was good to visit and pray with her. We diverged from our regular Bible reading for the evening for me to share with Elizabeth my story about Joshua 1:9 that Melinda encouraged me to share with her. It was a big story for a little girl to understand, but I think she got it. For those of you who haven’t heard it yet, I hope I get the opportunity to tell each of you in person. Someday I’ll try to write it down and share it here but in the meantime, just know that Tuesday I got my marching orders from the Lord pretty plain and clear, and they came in the form of Joshua 1:9. No doubt about it. If I were a mathematician I’d figure up the odds for you, but I’m pretty sure they were astronomical. I enjoyed one last chocolate milkshake this afternoon thanks to Michael and while I know it will be short lived, the last few days have been a welcome reprieve. Thank you for your continued prayer support. I’m up late tonight doing this as I know I’ll get a five-hour nap tomorrow when they zap me again. I’m ready to continue this fight! Elizabeth continues in Vacation Bible School this week, and please continue to pray for her that God becomes very real to her as she struggles to have faith, our greatest desire through all of this.
