We have heard from several folks and their experiences with the tornadoes and their aftermath--then we receive this email ---we know this family---great people---and we all think our problems are the worst--read on: I dont know if you and Cathy got the news, but Jeff Laatz was injured fighting a fire on Springfield Ave. in Champaign over the weekend (former Mas Amigos, next to the Baldwin dealer). Hes a captain, and went back inside after the fire got out of control to make sure everyone else was out. Fire got around his face mask. Hes in Springfield at the burn unit. They didnt think hed make it, but his condition has improved. Hes expected to survive, but they are unsure of the lung damage at this point. Very sad...He and Emily have 4 kids, most of them Paul & Anns ages and an older foster daughter. They live out near Gibson City and also have lots of animals. Quite a storm yesterday...was heading home from church when it hit. I was stuck in the drive through at Arbys with 2 freaking kids. Car shook the whole drive home Hope you and Mrs. B are doing well!
