We have just come back from holidays in Peloponessus and Crete in Greece and I would like to share some photos. The mixture of photos shows examples of what makes this historical country the GOOD,the BAD and the UGLY it is today. The first 4 pictures show the magnificent sunset from the Ionian coast of Peloponessus from the town of Pylos, the stadium in Ancient Olympia where the ancient Olympics took place, the great medieval castle on the rock of Monemvasia and the beautiful views of the Aegean from the castle. These are the GOOD photos. The next seven show the BAD side of this country with two signposts at the same point, showing a distance of 3.5 and 4 Km for the same destination. Another one does not show anything, a third one is used as shooting practice, a fourth one as advertisement board, the fifth non-existent (and dangerous), the sixth and seventh as a football expression of inadequate and uneducated people who do not give any consideration to the drivers. The last three show the UGLY side of this country, where around the non-existent signpost everybody added advertisements and the last two photos were taken, I am saddened to say, in the outskirts of Ierapetra and show the amount of rubbish around and how insensitive the local politicians Mayors (Dimarchoi), Deputy-Mayors (Anti-dimarchoi) and Councillors (Symvouloi) are to the general state of the country side. It could have been better if they stop talking politics and trying to promote political party stupid agendas and try to improve the state of this country. Sorry for the length of the comments, your comments will be appreciated.
