We have left governance to people, who are not really our representative, Policy to people who do not feel they are accountable to us; we have left environment, slum, and literacy to NGOs, Social Workers who struggle without our support. We, as citizens of our nation, are very fond of talking of our RIGHTS but shy away from even talking about our responsibilities as a citizen of the country. So came the idea of INDIA Redefined (indiaredefined.org) – A movement to create responsible and empowered citizens by bringing about “Behavioral Change”. It is by this change in behavior that we can unlock people’s potential to be empowered citizens. By giving a structure to this Desire to do something and aiming to make more Doers than Beneficiaries. As the movement pans across India, INDIA Redefined’s vision is created by an amalgamation of different visions that ultimately leads to a HAPPY INDIA which may seems UTOPIAN but SOMETHING TO STRIVE FOR… It is important to understand that we are not affiliated with a single political party or motive, but do not hesitate to work with any and every political party, business houses or NGOs for the right cause. That is why we want to make this Common United Platform - INDIA Redefined, a Collective Responsibility of four pillars of a nation, namely Citizens, Corporate, NGOs & Government. INDIA Redefined started as a social experiment and is now emerging as a Peoples Movement in last two years to create the Unified Diversity of the subcontinent known as INDIA into Diversified Unity of a HAPPY INDIA, hence INDIA Redefined. Common people till now have only come together if they were against something; e.g. All Independence movements, Movements against corruption etc. They have never come on one platform to work positively for country and then empowering themselves. Too few leaders, like Anna, have first built their credibility by doing their duties first. And even the followers of such leaders have yet to do their duty towards country, society and community at large. Hence the moral authority of such movements does not last long and is dependent only on the leaders karma. STAGES OF INDIA Redefined: AWAKEN INDIA - BY BRINGING ABOUT AWARENESS, EDUCATION & COMMUNICATION CLEAN INDIA - OF CORRUPTION, POLLUTION, UNHYGIENIC CONDITIONS, POLLUTED ENVIRONMENT, CONTAMINATED WATER & SOIL - (ANYTHING REQUIRING CLEANSING) GREEN INDIA - RESULT OF CLEAN INDIA ACHIEVED BY USING SUSTAINABLE METHODS/ TECHNOLOGIES FOR A GREENER INDIA (E.G. EMISSION REDUCTION & REDUCING EFFECTS OF CLIMATE CHANGE, RAIN WATER HARVESTING ETC.) HEALTHY INDIA - WILL RESULT FROM CLEAN INDIA AND DEDICATING SPECIFIC FOCUS ON HEALTHCARE ISSUES PROSPEROUS INDIA - THE ABOVE INITIATIVES WILL NATURALLY LEAD TO PROSPERITY ACROSS BOARD HAPPY INDIA - END RESULT OF ALL INITIATIVES, WHICH MAY SEEM UTOPIAN BUT SOMETHING TO STRIVE FOR This idea…. idea of a movement that is trying to tackle most, if not all, root causes by involving “we - the citizens” and creating a behavioral change towards their responsibilities first will also help citizens become empowered and create a better governance too. We ask from the people of India for only one thing – DONATION… Not of MONEY. But TIME. That is an idea worth spreading.
