We have noticed that since the 26th, 2011 Independence Day - TopicsExpress

We have noticed that since the 26th, 2011 Independence Day Celebrations in lofa County the generators that were installed to provide electricity for Voinjama citizens are off. After the celebrations, all of the generators have been permanently swatch off; presently there are three (3) generators in Voinjama city. We received creditable report that the biggest generator amongst the three had a minor problem which has caused local authorities not to turn it on since its arrival but the two smaller ones are in working and perfect conditions. Liberia Electricity Corporation Central office in Monrovia agreed to send the spare parts when it is call for by the Lofa County authorities without paying a cent. Just barely three (30 months ago, when the President Of Liberia decided to visit Lofa County, the Honorable Superintendent called an emergency meeting, calling on all stakeholders to give their input as to how bills will be pay and collected, how wires will be install and monitor. In that meeting there were committees set up to restore electricity before the arrival of the Madam Sirleaf in lofa County, but since the President canceled her trip then, the restoration of electricity in voinjama has died down. In that meeting we were also told that the legislative caucus of Lofa County suggested that the operation of the generators be privatize because the county has nowhere to get fuels. We are hearing that the president will be coming any time this June, 2013 so there are alleged plan meeting on the way for the restoration of electricity again. My questions are: a. Is the legislative caucus including local lofa County leadership playing eye servant with the president and the people Voinjama? b. Are there no fuels allotted by the GSA for the operations of those generators given to counties that have hosted the 26th celebrations since in fact the government is boasting of providing electricity in the rural parts of Liberia? c. What row can the caucus and citizens of Lofa County play to ensure that fuels are provided? d. When do you think we will have electricity in Voinjama city for the betterment of our student’s studies and the business community and the entire citizens own security?
