We have reached in the Middle East THE perfect political equilibrium : - A quasi diplomatic reconciliation between Iran and The United States. - A Syrian secular/Shia (or Alawite) regime, fighting the Islamists by not aiming their positions (sending bad thoughts has been proven by the finest regime researchers to be a very effective fighting method, even more than scuds), and asserting the fact it is again the Zionist enemy (so its a win-win for Arabs and the West/Israel) This being said, why would the West compromise the Shia stream (Iran-Syria-Lebanon) in the region ? Why on Earth would you want to remove Al Assad and replace him by, inevitably, Sunnis ? Not a single country controlled by Sunnis has proven it can be relatively independent and developed (say Turkey Ill answer Ataturk and I almost want to say Turkey has done everything to be more in the Wests side than in the Middle Easts). Compare the two main Muslim theocracies in the world : Saudi Arabia and Iran. Taking in consideration their laws that are the direct reflection of the Sharia, Iran has a much more moderate and tolerant regime than Saudi Arabia, valuing more peoples rights (including womens rights) and their social activities in general and having a very developed educational system, producing a large amount of intellectuals recognized everywhere in the world. While Saudi Arabia is struggling with womens right to drive... Whos to be the victim in all this ? Civilians. Its always civilians.. Nat
